Do you know what's in your walls?

Termite Control

When it comes to termites you should leave it to the professionals, but there are many things you as a property owner can do to help prevent a need for, or help with the process of termite extermination. Starting off you may ask “Why worry about termites” or “How can this tiny insect affect me”, well the answer is simple. Termites deal an estimate billion dollars in damages year round.

A termite colony will feed on wood and other similar materials, which results in damaged plant life, housing, pool linings, cardboard boxes, and even books. But how can you control these little property destroyers. Well first if it seems you might have termites (hollowed out/damaged wood, tiny holes in walls/plaster, etc) then you can request a thermal imaging scan, which does absolutely no damage to the building or grounds, to check for confirmed termite activity.

After your scan (if termites detected) thermal master can direct you to a professional pest control company who will treat these nasty buggers for you, termites may take several months to produce significant damage. Also take into consideration what extermination technique you would like to use; there is baiting and liquid treatments

Baiting is when the exterminator baits the termites with poisoned food consisting of wood and paper. This slowly decreases the termites’ numbers and eventually kills them off.It can also be a slow process but can be more suitable for you if you are concerned about chemical substance around your children or pets. The liquid treatment is simply a long lasting chemical barrier around the perimeter of your house, which eventually starves the termites and kills the colony, which is generally more effective then the baiting system.
